My hubby and I ventured out, back in October 2022, to try the relatively new tapas restaurant located in the old D’Anbinos Cellars spot, at the Paso Robles Train Station.
Open Wednesday through Monday evenings, the restaurant serves bubbly, wine, beer and fun, sake-based cocktails, along with self-described, “Spanish-inspired food with a Latin twist”.
That evening we opted for a selection of tapas to share, with a glass (or two) of wine and a beer.
We opted to try the empanadas and we were offered a choice of two different fillings. We selected the lamb and golden raisin flavor, served with a an aioli-type sauce that we found quite delicious. We were serves 3 empanadas, but I only remembered to take a pic when we had already wolfed down two!
We also ordered the “Champinones al Ajillo”, sauteed locally-grown mushrooms, with garlic, in an olive oil and white wine sauce, and accompanied by grilled baguette slices. I really loved this dish!
Dear husband’s favorite was the “Camarones Borrachos”, sauteed shrimps with Wine Shine orange brandy, garlic and chili flakes. It too was served with toasted baguette slices.
The service by Diego was excellent and we enjoyed meeting the warm and friendly owners, Nick and Ingrid.
On Monday evenings they have $8 tapas specials and $20 bar specials. Chef Nick will be spinning favorites and it should be a great time and place for local’s to hang out!
Junction is open from 5:00pm to 9:00pm on Wednesday through Monday.
